Bisi sounded hysteric when she called to ask my thoughts about antiperspirants and deodorants.
She had been following the trends online and was beginning to get confused.
There’s been an ongoing debate about deodorants and antiperspirants for a long time now.
A deodorant is not an antiperspirant.
An antiperspirant stops you from sweating by the use of aluminium compounds which supposedly block your sweat ducts.
In heavy doses like many other minerals it can be toxic, but you need not worry about the small doses in antiperspirants.
A deodorant is as simple as it suggests; it decreases odour!
Some waste leaves the body during sweating and so I think it is healthy to sweat.
I made the switch a long time ago and personally, I avoid antiperspirants. I don’t like the idea of blocking my sweat glands.
However I get over sweating by making sure I wear clean clothes daily, change my clothes daily, bathe often because sweat smells especially if its been hanging around for a long time and bacteria gets to it.
Preferably, I use a natural deodorant which I make myself. I love it because it keeps me really smelling sweet.
I love you, I love your health.
