Strokes can be devastating, but a great number is avoidable which could save lives and pocket drains!
Sadly, the burden of STROKE in Nigeria is increasing!
At a glance….
A STROKE is a brain attack that occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off.
There are two kinds – Ischaemic (caused by a clot, or blockage cutting off the blood supply to the brain), or Haemorrahagic (caused by a blood vessel bursting within, or on, the surface of the brain).
Quite a number of STROKE episodes are preventable if people follow 10 health rules:
1. Lowering blood pressure.
3. Eating healthy.
4. Maintaining a healthy weight.
5. Preventing diabetes.
6. Lowering blood cholesterol levels.
7. Cutting down on alcohol.
8. Stopping smoking.
9. Lowering stress.
10. Taking preventive medication prescribed by your physician for any abnormal heart beat patterns.
TOGETHER, LET’S STRIKE STROKE OUT AND REDUCE THE NUMBER OF PREVENTABLE DEATHS AND SUFFERING DUE TO STROKE!
I love you, I love your health.
